Compass Associates have partnered exclusively with a leading Care Home Provider to identify an experienced Registered Home Manager for a well-established residential and dementia care home in Wickford, Essex.

This appointment represents a great leadership opportunity within a medium-sized, purpose-built service with a strong reputation for quality and a supportive, stable team. The home delivers warm, person-centred care for older adults in a homely, community-focused environment. The incoming Manager will inherit a settled and motivated team, and strong operational and regional support. This is a planned leadership succession, offering continuity and autonomy rather than a turnaround. You will have the freedom and backing to continue building on existing strengths, improve operational efficiencies, and enhance resident and family satisfaction.

The Role

As Registered Home Manager, you will:

  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership across all aspects of residential and dementia care
  • Lead, motivate, and retain a skilled and committed team
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, internal quality standards, and safeguarding policies
  • Oversee operational performance, including occupancy, budgets, and resources
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and best-practice care
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and the local community

You will play a critical role in sustaining a warm and homely environment, ensuring every resident receives care tailored to their individual needs, preferences, and life history.

About You

We are seeking a Registered Home Manager with:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience managing residential and/or dementia care services
  • A strong track record with CQC inspections and compliance
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and people-management skills
  • Operational confidence and commercial awareness
  • A genuine passion for person-centred care and building a positive team culture

You are approachable, visible, and proactive, with the ability to inspire confidence in your team while ensuring high standards of care.
