Overview
In this role you lead the oncology pharmacy service at a Guildford private hospital, directly supporting cancer patients and collaborating with the oncology MDT. You focus on safe, effective, and personalised treatment while expanding clinical leadership within a small pharmacy team. The role combines hands-on patient care with developing the service and wider oncology capability. You’ll work Monday to Friday, with direct patient contact and opportunities to influence care decisions at the bedside.

Responsibilities
- Lead the oncology pharmacy service at site level
- Regular face-to-face contact with oncology/haematology patients
- Screen and verify SACT prescriptions to support safe treatment decisions
- Counsel patients and provide specialist medicines information
- Work closely with consultants and the oncology MDT
- Support and develop colleagues in oncology competencies
- Be part of a small, supportive pharmacy team with access to a wider oncology network
- Develop clinical leadership while maintaining direct patient care
Key requirements
- UK GPhC registration — essential
- 2–3 years’ oncology pharmacy experience (NHS or private)
- BOPA Passport Level 2 with evidence of screening Cycle 1 oncology and haematology prescriptions
- Experience screening and verifying oncology/haematology SACT prescriptions
- Strong communication skills with patients and clinical teams
- Ideally experience supervising or training colleagues
