Compass Associates are working with a well-established and stable elderly care provider to find a Regional Operations Director for a portfolio of 8 residential and nursing homes across Essex and East London. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to a newly appointed Director of Care. Its an ideal time to join, the new leadership is focused on streamlining operations and empowering Regional Directors to have more influence over their specific patch. You will have the autonomy to drive quality, culture, and performance across your 8 homes without being micro-managed from afar.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership to a team of 8 Home Managers, acting as a mentor and a point of escalation.
- Focus on CQC excellence, ensuring every home in the region is meeting or exceeding regulatory standards.
- Manage regional budgets and KPIs, balancing commercial sustainability with high-quality resident care.
- Work closely with the new Director of Care to implement regional improvements and staffing strategies.
- Spend consistent time within the homes to understand the local challenges and support your teams on the ground.
About You
We are looking for a straightforward, experienced operator who knows the elderly care sector inside out. Youll be someone who prefers a visible leadership style, getting out into the services and building real relationships with Home Managers and staff members.
Essential Requirements
- Regional Experience: You must have a proven track record in multi-site management within the elderly care sector.
- CQC Knowledge: A strong history of managing regulatory compliance and driving quality improvements.
- Commercial Skills: Comfortable managing P&L, occupancy, and regional budgets.
- Leadership: A supportive, common-sense approach to people management.
- Flexibility: Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across the Essex/East London region.
Note: An NMC Nursing Pin is not required for this role.
The Offer
- Competitive base salary of up to 90,000.
