Compass Associates are currently working in partnership with a highly reputable retirement living organisation, who are opening a new development in Shropshire later in 2026. This will be another community to add to their already strong portfolio, where older adults are free to live on their own terms; supported by kindness, surrounded by opportunity and able to enjoy a richer, more connected later life.
We are seeking a Sales Counsellor to play a vital role by building long‑lasting meaningful relationships with individuals across the community while nurturing a strong pipeline of individuals for the soon‑to‑be opened retirement village. This role focuses on relationship building and a prospect‑centred selling approach rather than a traditional sales background.
Responsibilities- Build trusted relationships with prospective residents and their families
- Maintain, grow and nurture a high‑quality lead pipeline using our CRM
- Deliver empathetic, prospect‑centred selling that focuses on individual goals, fears and motivations
- Conduct home visits where appropriate to better understand needs and living situations
- Create advocates by delivering warm, meaningful experiences from first contact to move‑in
- Represent the business within the community with authenticity and confidence
- Develop relationships with local estate agents, financial advisers, social groups and influencers
- Support events, talks, open days and presentations
- Guide prospects through the journey from initial enquiry to reservation and move‑in
- Conduct tours of the retirement village, showing how our community may enhance quality of life
- Communicate clear, transparent information about rental and sale options
- Work to agreed targets while maintaining warmth, integrity and ethical practice at all times
- Natural warmth, emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport quickly
- High integrity, strong ethical judgement and a calm, reassuring demeanour
- Genuine enjoyment of working with older adults and families
- Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal
