We are seeking a motivated and experienced EAP Counselling Manager to lead a team of helpline counsellors and case workers. This key role ensures the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate mental health support to users of the services, while driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the helpline operation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of EAP counsellors and case workers, upholding high clinical and operational standards.
  • Oversee daily team performance, ensuring strong delivery against productivity targets, quality benchmarks, and service level agreements.
  • Offer clinical guidance, supervision, and debriefing, with a focus on safeguarding, risk management, and best practice.
  • Drive ongoing development of the EAP service, supporting innovations in digital and telephone-based therapy provision.
  • Lead the design and delivery of training programmes, including onboarding, mandatory learning, and professional development.
  • Act as the first point of contact for client escalations, team queries, and emergency out-of-hours cover.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, offering clinical expertise and service insight.

Requirements

  • Recognised Diploma in Psychotherapy (required).
  • Background in Psychology / Psychotherapy or related field (desirable).
  • Proven experience in managing teams, particularly within a clinical or EAP setting.
  • Strong performance management skills, including conducting 1:1s, reviews, and personal development planning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Able to support others effectively in a fast-paced environment.
