Quality Lead (South) – Elderly Care
Leading Care Home Developer. Compass Associates have been engaged by one of the UK's leading care home developers and operators to recruit a Quality Lead supporting a portfolio of 30 care homes across the South region.

The Quality Lead will play a pivotal role in maintaining these standards, providing independent quality assurance across a regional portfolio while working closely with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and best practice.
As Quality Lead, you will provide independent oversight across a portfolio of care homes, ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement. Working closely with Quality Directors, Home Managers, and senior leadership teams, you will undertake quality assurance inspections, review governance processes, identify emerging risks, and support services to consistently achieve the highest standards of care and compliance.
This is a highly visible regional position requiring strong auditing experience, sound regulatory knowledge, and the confidence to influence, coach, and challenge operational teams where appropriate.
- Quality Assurance & Governance: Provide independent quality assurance through comprehensive audits, inspections, and governance reviews across allocated services.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assess homes against CQC regulations and internal quality standards, ensuring services remain inspection-ready and compliant.
- Quality Improvement: Review and validate service improvement plans while supporting sustainable improvements across the region.
- Risk Management: Identify emerging quality and compliance risks, ensuring concerns are appropriately escalated through governance frameworks.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor key quality indicators, analyse trends, and ensure improvement actions are implemented and embedded effectively.
- Operational Support & Coaching: Work alongside operational teams to provide guidance, coaching, and specialist advice that supports continuous improvement and regulatory excellence.
- Governance & Reporting: Contribute to regional and organisational quality reporting, governance reviews, and wider quality improvement initiatives.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Quality, Governance, or Senior Operational professional with a passion for driving quality and improving resident outcomes within elderly care.
- Experience within a Quality, Governance, Regional Support, or Senior Operational role in elderly care.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience undertaking audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance reviews.
- The ability to identify quality risks and implement sustainable service improvements.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative coaching style with the confidence to challenge and support operational teams.
- Flexibility to travel extensively across the South region.
