Overview
Compass Associates is excited to partner with a dedicated charity supporting women and girls who have been victims of sexual abuse to recruit a Director of Programmes. This newly created role within the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team will be instrumental in shaping and expanding the impact of their programmes, ensuring positive outcomes for those in care.
You will collaborate closely with the charity\’s senior leadership team, including the newly appointed CEO, to ensure the development, delivery, and ongoing maintenance of the charity’s programmes. This will involve prioritising safeguarding for all, in accordance with the ethical frameworks set out by the NHS and BACP.
The charity\’s programmes are available across several South London boroughs, including Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Kingston upon Thames, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Sutton, and Wandsworth through satellite locations and their main site based in Croydon. These programmes include;
- Support Line – telephone and webchat support for survivors aged 16 and over.
- Counselling 1-on-1 and Group and play therapy for women and girls aged 4 and up.
- Outreach support for women facing additional marginalisation and barriers to accessing services.
- Advocacy for women and girls aged 12 + who have or thinking about reporting to the police
- Training for practitioners and organisations
- Consultation and response to media a press enquires
As the Director of Programmes, we are seeking an individual with extensive experience in senior programme management and leadership. However, we are also open to considering candidates eager to take the next step in their career.
Given the nature of the charity\’s work, it is essential that you are genuinely passionate about its cause and committed to investing your time, effort, and expertise in supporting its service users.

Requirements
- Experience in Senior Leadership and Management within a nonprofit, educational, or public service setting.
- Leading a multi-disciplinary management team and overseeing services.
- Knowledge of therapeutic services and counselling
- BACP accreditation
- Proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams or multi-organisational partnerships.
Salary and Benefits
- 35 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) (pro rata)
- Paid time of between Christmas and new year
