Commissioning Home Manager – Nursing, Dementia & Elderly Care

Location: Elstead, Surrey

Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 per annum + performance bonus

Service Type: Brand-new, luxury nursing and dementia care home (predominantly private-fee)

The Opportunity

Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a leading elderly care provider in the search for a Commissioning Home Manager to open and lead a brand-new, purpose-built care home in Elstead , Surrey.

This beautifully designed, medium-to-large home will offer high-quality nursing, dementia, and elderly care within a luxury setting. With a focus on the private market and full clinical support from a strong leadership structure, this is your chance to shape a flagship service from the ground up from recruitment and registration through to full occupancy and beyond.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced, passionate, and confident leader who thrives in commissioning environments and understands the importance of quality, compliance, and commercial performance. You’ll be supported by a dedicated Commissioning Director and a clinical Deputy Manager to help ensure excellence from day one.

You will have:

  • Prior experience commissioning a new care home
  • Nurse qualification (ideal, but not essential)
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Registered Home Manager
  • Strong understanding of CQC, safeguarding, and best practice in elderly care
  • Evidence of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ CQC outcomes
  • Confidence in leading clinical teams and driving standards
  • Commercial awareness and experience with the private-fee market
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full commissioning and registration of the new home
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a new, high-performing care team
  • Ensure clinical excellence and full compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Oversee all aspects of operational and financial performance
  • Promote the service locally and build strong relationships with families, professionals, and the wider community
