Up to £60,000 plus Benefits

Are you a Veterinary Surgeon looking for a better work life balance? Want to work in a practice that focuses on clinical quality above all else? We are supporting a large veterinary practice based just outside of Cardiff as they seek a new Vet Surgeon to join them for 3‑days a week.

Remuneration

We are looking to offer up to £60,000 DOE with some flexibility and negotiation certainly still on the table. Alongside salary, we offer:

  • Certificate funding available and negotiation to buy you out of your learning agreements.
  • Half price vet care for your pets.
  • Wellbeing package including mental health first aiders, discounted gym membership, and Bupa assist helpline.
  • 4 weeks sick pay.
  • Loads more!

The Practice

You will be joining a large team of over a dozen vet surgeons, internal skillset ranges from advanced practitioners, certificate holders, general practitioners and new graduates. Across the practice we offer what is most likely the broadest range of services and facilities. These include, but certainly are not limited to; exotic consults & surgery; K‑Laser courses; full orthopaedic sets; operating theatres and dental suite; separate ward spaces for cats, dogs and exotics and a massive diagnostics department with digital X‑ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and ECG machines. We are well supported by our RVNs and non‑clinical team and our company directors still work hands on alongside yourself.

What sets us apart is culture. There will be no talk of financial targets, strict consulting times or limited availability on drug choices. You are the vet and you will get the flexibility and autonomy to manage your own caseload how you see fit. So long as you put the patient first, and support the client the best way you can, you need not concern yourself with anything else.

You:

While we do offer new graduate L&D and EMS placements, this part time role would not be best practice if it is your first job. We are seeking a confident vet surgeon who has done some VetGDP advisory work, motivated to promote the best practice mentality and happy working in a mixed small animal role. Someone with a real drive for mentoring and a passion for high‑quality veterinary services. We have availability for 3‑days a week at the practice, and you would not need to commit to any of our weekend or OOH services.

Recommendations:

If you are not interested, but know someone who is, we offer £500 vouchers for each successful recommendation. If you wish to apply for this position, please contact Theo Hoten on 023 9421 4488 or email your CV to thoten@compassltd.co.uk.
