At present, we are in search for a motivated Pre-Op Assessment and Post-Op Unit Lead to join the team. Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of highly specialist, evidence-based pre and post operative day within the day surgery unit. Leading the team of nurses, you will proactively respond to and lead emergency situations with support within the centre, support the development and lead the pre-assessment services, and take responsibility for the development of the team within the pre and post operative unit.
- Lead the unit day-to-day, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow from admission to discharge
- Take clinical leadership in post-anaesthetic recovery
- Develop and lead a high-quality Pre-Operative Assessment service
Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC)
Strong surgical background
Experience in post-op care, day surgery, or inpatient surgical settings
Additional experience in Recovery, HDU, or ITU will be highly advantageous
Previous Band 6 (or equivalent) experience minimum – ready to step up or already operating at Band 7
