At present, we are in search for an experienced and motivated Children and Young People Nurse to join the team. As a CYP Nurse, you will work across our developing paediatric services, providing high-quality, compassionate care to children, young people and their families. Initially, your focus will be supporting outpatient services, including specialist paediatric testing and day case care. As the service grows, you will play an integral role in supporting the introduction of paediatric surgical pathways and ward-based care.
This is a varied and rewarding position that offers exposure to multiple clinical specialties and the opportunity to contribute directly to service development.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care for children and young people
- Support outpatient clinics and specialist paediatric services
- Perform and assist with dynamic testing (including skin prick testing, endocrine testing and food challenges)
- Manage and support day case procedures
- Work collaboratively across outpatient and ward-based environment
- Contribute to the safe development and expansion of paediatric services
What can you bring?
- Registered Paediatric Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Right to Work in the UK
- Previous hospital or ward-based paediatric nursing experience
- Surgical nursing experience
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working within a developing service
- Previous paediatric outpatient experience and phlebotomy skills will be advantageous
Working Hours
This role has a highly desirable shift pattern that will be worked days only between Monday to Friday. The service will run 8am-8pm, so flexibility will be based on patient needs and service requirements.
