Salary: £28,000 – £42,000 (DOE & accreditation status)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (occasional Saturdays – with a day off in lieu)

Overview:

Compass Associates are proud to be headhunting on behalf of a respected private rehabilitation provider in Surrey, in search of a skilled Addictions Therapist. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced counsellor or psychotherapist who thrives in a group-based and holistic setting, with a focus on the treatment of addictions through a structured 28-day residential programme. You'll join a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team offering a blend of 1:1 therapy, psychoeducational groups, and relapse prevention sessions - all delivered within a safe and community-driven therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate group therapy aligned with the 12-Step Minnesota model
  • Deliver 1:1 therapy to clients in addiction recovery
  • Run relapse prevention workshops and psychoeducational sessions
  • Participate in ward rounds and treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
  • Support client integration and progress within the community
  • Commit to regular supervision and CPD

Group sizes: Typically 3 clients per group, rising to 8-9 when co-facilitating with another addictions therapist.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Counselling (or equivalent)
  • Accredited or working toward accreditation within 12 months (BACP, UKCP, HCPC)

Experience:

  • Significant experience as a counsellor or psychotherapist working in addictions
  • Comfortable delivering structured group work and psychoeducational content
  • Familiar with DBT-informed techniques and motivational interviewing
  • Experience or interest in eating disorders (desirable)

Salary & Benefits:

  • Non-Accredited Therapist: £28,000 – £32,000
  • Accredited Therapist: £35,000 – £42,000

Interview Process:

  • Format: On-site interview with competency and scenario-based questions
  • Panel: Includes Clinical Lead and another member of the therapy team.
