LOCATION: Hybrid working (Scotland and wider UK flexible base)
Compass Associates are supporting the confidential search for a Senior Management Accountant to join a growing, multi-site care and support organisation in a key finance role. This is a hands-on position focused on strengthening financial reporting, balance sheet control and financial governance across a complex, multi-site environment. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and wider leadership team, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring reporting accuracy while providing meaningful financial insight to support operational decision-making.
THE ROLE
- Leading the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Owning the month-end process including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Producing high-quality reporting with clear commentary and variance analysis
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and rolling cashflow reporting
- Full ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and control schedules
- Strengthening financial controls, processes and documentation
- Supporting audit processes and acting as a key finance contact for auditors
- Partnering with operational stakeholders to explain performance and cost drivers
- Providing insight on cost control, efficiencies and financial risk
- Supporting decision-making through modelling and scenario analysis
- Identifying and implementing improvements to reporting, systems and processes
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the finance team
This role offers strong exposure across the organisation and will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys both detailed financial control and commercial involvement.
ABOUT YOU
This opportunity will suit a technically capable and commercially aware finance professional who brings:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience producing management accounts within a multi-site or complex environment
- Strong technical accounting and balance sheet control experience
- Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with large data sets
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting
- Confidence partnering with operational and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive and detail-focused approach to financial control and reporting
- Experience within care, healthcare, hospitality or other multi-site sectors (desirable)
- Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools (desirable)
LOCATION AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Hybrid role with flexibility on base location. Ideal for candidates based in Scotland or the wider UK. Blend of home working and engagement with finance and operational leadership.
