About CompareYachtInsurance
CompareYachtInsurance is a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial marine insurance specialist with a clear ambition: to redefine how yacht owners, managers, and brokers access insurance solutions. Recently backed by AUB Group — owners of the esteemed London market broker Tysers — we combine the agility of a startup with the resources and reach of a major international group. We work with yachts of all sizes and values, placing hull, machinery, liability and crew cover for a diverse client base. Our proximity to the Lloyd’s market is a core part of our identity, and we pride ourselves on delivering a modern, efficient, and client‑focused broking experience.
As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a Junior Broker to join our close‑knit team and grow with us.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career in marine insurance. You’ll work directly with yacht owners, managers, and fellow brokers, supporting the placement and servicing of yacht insurance across global markets. You’ll be part of a small, ambitious team where your contribution will be visible, valued, and impactful. Full training is provided, and you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to the Lloyd’s market, our specialist CRM platform, and the full lifecycle of yacht insurance broking.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the placement and renewal of yacht insurance policies across hull, machinery, liability and crew cover.
- Communicate directly with clients, insurers, and partner brokers to gather information, provide updates, and deliver exceptional service.
- Assist with preparing submissions, quotations, and policy documentation.
- Maintain accurate client records using our advanced CRM system.
- Participate in in‑person broking at Lloyd’s of London when required.
- Represent CompareYachtInsurance at major international boat shows, including Southampton, Palma, and Cannes.
- Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying opportunities, nurturing relationships, and supporting sales activity.
- Endless opportunities to get stuck in with other areas of the business where you can add value.
What We’re Looking For
We’re open to candidates from a range of backgrounds — whether you’re a recent graduate, early in your insurance career, or coming from a marine or yachting environment. What matters most is your attitude and ambition.
Must‑Have Qualities
- Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with customers.
- A genuine desire to learn and develop as a broker.
- Sales‑oriented mindset with the hunger to build and grow a client base.
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Interest in boats, yachts, or sailing (marine insurance experience is a strong plus).
- A team‑first mentality with the drive to contribute to a high‑growth startup.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (£25,000–£30,000 depending on experience).
- A central London office with direct access to the Lloyd’s market.
- Flexible time off.
- Full training and career development within a specialist marine insurance brokerage.
- The chance to build relationships with leading insurers and brokers across the market.
- Opportunities to travel to major international boat shows.
- A dynamic, ambitious, and supportive team environment where your impact is real and your growth is encouraged.
