The Senior Data Governance Analyst delivers practical data governance across Compare the Market, ensuring data is trusted, well-defined, and fit for use. The role works hands-on with data governance tooling, and partners closely with various stakeholders to keep governance aligned with CtM’s evolving data platforms. Through strong stakeholder engagement, technical understanding, and data-led insight, the role directly supports CtM’s strategic objectives, including data products, AI, and informed decision-making.
Some Of The Great Things You’ll Be Doing
- Data Governance and Metadata Management: Own and develop the enterprise data catalogue, maintaining high-quality metadata, definitions, lineage, and ownership to improve data discoverability and usability.
- Technical Integration and Data Mapping: Work closely with data and BI engineering teams to understand CtM’s data architecture and continuously connect Atlan to multiple data stores. Develop and maintain data architecture and lineage views that reflect current and future-state data flows, integrations, and platforms.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Use SQL and data analysis techniques to support data governance initiatives, providing insights that help prioritise governance activity, track adoption, and support decision-making.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Data Owners, Custodians, Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, and wider business teams to identify governance needs, embed standards into BAU, and drive positive change through influence and clear communication.
- Project Coordination: Lead and contribute as a subject matter expert to data governance initiatives and projects, managing priorities and delivering outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Best Practices and Recommendations: Act as a senior advisor on data governance, metadata, and documentation best practices, providing pragmatic recommendations that improve how data is managed, used, and trusted across the organisation.

- Moderate knowledge of SQL and experience with data governance tools (e.g., data catalogues, data quality management software).
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and regulatory requirements i.e. GDPR.
- Excellent analytical abilities with a proven track record of conducting data analysis and delivering actionable insights.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, demonstrating creativity and initiative in solving complex problems.
