What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js within a modern cloud-based architecture
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to deliver high-quality, resilient solutions at pace
- Contribute to the design and development of AI-enabled products and workflows, including systems that leverage agentic AI capabilities
- Explore and implement emerging AI tooling and engineering practices to improve customer experiences and developer efficiency
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, while contributing to engineering best practices and continuous improvement
- Support system reliability, observability, and performance optimisation across backend services
- Work closely with teams across the business to translate technical and customer requirements into scalable solutions
What We’re Looking For
You’ll have solid commercial experience as a Backend Engineer, with strong Node.js development skills and experience building scalable APIs and distributed systems. You’re comfortable working in modern engineering environments and collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. You’ll also have exposure to AI-enabled engineering practices or agentic AI systems and be excited by the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in this rapidly evolving space. Whether you’ve worked directly with LLM-powered applications, orchestration frameworks, AI tooling, or autonomous workflows, you’re curious about how AI can transform both products and engineering ways of working. We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical foundations with a growth mindset — someone who enjoys learning, experimenting, and solving problems in a fast-moving environment. Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and modern software engineering practices would be beneficial.
