We are looking for hard-working individuals that are enthusiastic about hygiene tasks and enjoy a challenge. You will work as part of a team to ensure all hygiene tasks are completed efficiently. Previous experience may be useful, however full training will be given.

About Us

Company Shop Group (CSG), part of Biffa, is the largest commercial redistributor of surplus food and household products in the UK. We enable retailers, manufacturers, food service and logistics providers to unlock value from surplus stock, which may have otherwise gone to waste.

Shift Pattern & Pay

  • Vacancy A – 37.5 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday. Working hours: 6:00–14:00 Monday‑Thursday, 8:00–16:00 Sunday.
  • Vacancy B – 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday. Working hours: 6:00–14:00 Tuesday‑Friday, 8:00–16:00 Saturday.
  • Vacancy C – 40 hours per week, Friday to Monday. Working hours: 6:00–16:30 Friday & Monday, 8:00–18:30 Saturday & Sunday.
  • Vacancy D – 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday. Working hours: 22:00–6:00.

Location: Company Shop Limited, Tankersley Distribution Centre, Wentworth Way, Wentworth Industrial Estate, Tankersley, Barnsley, South Yorkshire S75 3DH.

Rate of Pay: £12.25 per hour, paid on a four-weekly basis. Night shift allowance: £1.25 per hour. Please note: the team operates around the clock, 24/7, and successful candidates will be required to work bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning work to the required standard and as instructed by your line manager.
  • Use cleaning materials appropriately and economically and in line with COSHH.
  • Inform your line manager when stocks are low.
  • Work quickly and efficiently.
  • Cover any aspects/roles within the hygiene department for absence or excessive workload deemed appropriate by CSL management.
  • Operate the automatic cardboard bailer.
  • Operate mechanical cleaning equipment as trained and required.
  • Use the correct version-controlled documentation and ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately, completely and timely.
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are always followed and encourage colleagues to do the same.
  • Active reporting of Health and Safety near misses and encouraging colleagues to do the same.
  • Build working relationships with other departments.
