Finance Manager/Commercial Manager

We are excited to be recruiting for a Commercial Manager/Finance Manager based at Kew Gardens The Botanical.

Location: TW9 3AE

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, 5 over 7 days

Key responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Report all financial aspects of performance to senior managers and the head office support team, including Profit and Loss (PnL), Forecast, Labour, and consumption reports.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial information by the finance team.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness across all commercial activities

Commercial Analysis:

• Conduct commercial analysis of sales performance, labour, and theoretical Gross Profit (GP).

• Propose commercial improvements to increase profitability and operational efficiency.

Cost Management:

• Transfer all costs and place and track all relevant accruals accurately.

• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.

Sales Reporting:

• Send weekly sales information to clients and senior managers.

• Update senior managers with figures for monthly reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

Payroll Management:

• Check weekly payroll figures to ensure they match with reporting.

• Collaborate with the finance team to resolve any discrepancies promptly.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial performance and commercial strategies.

• Act as a key point of contact for all commercial matters, providing insights and recommendations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or professional accounting qualifications preferred).
  • Proven experience in a commercial management role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting and commercial analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in cost management and improving profitability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
