Our client in the financial services industry is looking for a creative and dynamic Design Executive (junior designer) to deliver top-quality design services, creating visually impactful marketing literature, advertising, event collateral, and customer communications, including large-scale campaigns. This role forms part of an internal Design and Creative Centre of Excellence and works closely with a Senior Designer in South Africa and the Head of Design in London. The position supports the development of marketing materials across a wide range of print and digital formats, including integrated campaigns, marketing literature, online and print assets, event materials, social content, video editing, and animation. The Junior Design Executive will also act as a brand champion, ensuring the consistent and effective application of brand visual identity across all outputs.
What you will do:
- Support the creation of marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, social media graphics, presentations, and campaign materials for print and digital formats.
- Collaborate with senior designers during design kick-offs, critiques, and reviews to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and project objectives.
- Apply brand standards consistently across all deliverables to maintain visual identity and quality.
- Prepare, organise, and maintain design files, templates, and creative assets for efficient team access.
- Assist in planning and developing content for marketing campaigns, events, and internal communications.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and generate creative concepts under guidance.
- Produce layouts, illustrations, and basic motion graphics using Adobe Creative Suite and related tools.
- Edit video and support animation requirements as needed.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with specifications prior to final delivery.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of user experience principles and experience design, with awareness of how design impacts usability.
- Strong grasp of visual design fundamentals, including branding guidelines, typography, colour theory, and layout principles.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with familiarity across digital, print, and motion design formats.
- Awareness of inclusive design practices and accessibility standards for digital content.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple projects under guidance.
- Curiosity and proactive learning mindset, with interest in emerging tools, techniques, and design trends.
- Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Premiere, and Audition is advantageous.
- Experience with Ceros is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and passion for design and creativity beyond core job responsibilities.
