Position Summary
The Dailies Producer is responsible for managing and coordinating location and facility dailies shows for both Episodic and Features. They supervise schedules to ensure the dailies process is technically accurate and that staff are trained uniformly and cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities
This individual sets high standards, trains new and existing staff, and is the primary contact for clients on assigned shows. The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Dailies Operator, Dailies Colorist, or similar.
Main Duties
- Serve as the primary client contact for assigned shows, overseeing the dailies workflow from start to finish.
- Conduct Pre-Production Calls, gather specs, create show spec sheets and workflow documents for the Dailies team.
- Coordinate camera test workflows and session scheduling with DI Producers and Colorists, both local and remote.
- Review bids and set up jobs in Mediapulse.
- Review and approve billing, ensuring charges are accurately documented.
- Schedule resources and create work orders in Mediapulse.
- Utilize operational guides and workflow documents to raise work requests via tools like SLACK, JIRA, Click Up.
- Communicate job specs to Dailies Colorists, technicians, Data IO, and Deliverables teams to ensure clarity on requirements and expectations.
- Schedule staff, track time off, and discuss coverage issues with the Director of Dailies.
- Monitor LTO turn-around times, escalate delays, and update clients accordingly.
- Schedule staff on weekends, with pre-approval for OT, to meet turnaround requirements.
- Track spec changes, communicate updates, and ensure protocol adherence.
- Document issues during dailies and coordinate with DI management for resolution.
- Train all Dailies Operators in department functions.
- Support on-location setups and be willing to travel.
- Be available outside regular hours to resolve issues.
- Ensure staff are trained in company software including Synapse, Metatrack, D365, etc.
- Maintain workflow/image science documentation.
- Provide feedback and escalate issues related to colorists/technicians.
- Report security breaches immediately.
- Maintain awareness of job statuses and communicate effectively via Teams Channel.
- Identify potential issues and escalate promptly.
- Respond to client requests and coordinate logistics for on-location work.
- Manage scheduling of vault, data IO, engineering theaters, and other resources.
- Ensure tracking sheets are current and accurate.
- Monitor billing and LTO shipments, ensuring timely invoicing and backup shipments.
- Escalate show issues to the Director, Dailies.
- Maintain communication loops internally and externally.
- Perform other duties as required.
