We’re looking for a Senior 2D Concept Artist to help shape the visual identity of our stylised game. This role is for a seasoned visual storyteller who can drive early art development, contribute across key concept areas, and collaborate across disciplines to define a vibrant, iconic world. Reporting to the Art Director, you’ll set visual standards, mentor peers, and directly influence the artistic tone of the project.
Your Responsibilities:
- Drive the creation of compelling 2D concepts for characters, environments, props, and key scenes that communicate style, tone, and mood.
- Collaborate closely with the Art Director and Design Leads to evolve the game’s visual language and support gameplay through strong visual design.
- Translate narrative goals into visual ideas, mood boards, and storytelling moments that inspire world-building and player immersion.
- Provide paint overs, explorations, and visual targets to support 3D artists, VFX, and lighting teams during production.
- Help establish and maintain a cohesive style guide, ensuring visual consistency across all in-game content.
- Offer mentorship and feedback to mid/junior artists and participate in portfolio reviews, critiques, and hiring discussions.
- Contribute to art documentation and internal presentations to help align vision across the team and stakeholders.
Your Profile:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a concept artist in games, with at least 1–2 shipped titles in a stylised or AA/AAA capacity.
- Proven ability to create environment art in a stylised art style.
- Exceptional portfolio showing stylised concept art across characters, environments, props, or creatures with a strong narrative presence.
- Expertise in tools such as Photoshop or similar.
- Strong command of colour theory, lighting, shape design, and composition.
- A team player with excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and the autonomy to own creative challenges.
- Experience working on rogue-like, action, or stylised titles.
- A gamer at heart with a solid grasp of current trends and player expectations in the video game industry.
- Fluent in English at a business level, comfortable in a remote-first work environment.
