We are searching for a highly skilled 3D Animator to bring fast-paced, high-impact animations to life for our upcoming new title. You will play a key role in creating dynamic combat animations, fluid movement, and expressive character animations that enhance the game’s action-packed, cooperative gameplay experience.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Animate player characters, enemies, bosses, and environmental elements to support fast-paced combat and cooperative gameplay.
  • Work closely with designers, programmers, and artists to create animation assets that improve gameplay fluidity and responsiveness.
  • Implement animations into Unreal Engine using Blueprints, AnimGraphs, State Machines, and Retargeting to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with combat designers to refine attack animations, hit reactions, dodge mechanics, and special abilities for a highly responsive combat system.
  • Ensure animations are optimized for Nintendo Switch, balancing quality and performance.
  • Provide animation direction and feedback to ensure consistent style and motion quality across all assets.
  • Assist in rigging and skinning characters, NPCs, and creatures, ensuring smooth deformations and efficient setups.

Your Profile:

  • 3+ years of professional animation experience in the games industry with a focus on gameplay animation.
  • Experience working on at least one shipped console title, preferably on Nintendo Switch.
  • Strong expertise in Unreal Engine’s animation pipeline, including Blueprints, AnimGraphs, State Machines, and Animation Retargeting.
  • Implementing root motion, animation montages, and procedural animations.
  • Proficiency in Maya for animation and rigging.
  • Possesses strong keyframe animation skills and a portfolio that demonstrates high-quality combat and action movements.
  • Experience with responsive character animation in a gameplay-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with side-scrolling animation styles.
  • Knowledge of Nintendo Switch hardware limitations and optimization techniques.
