Job summary
We\’re looking for 2 Senior Finance System Engineers to join us at Companies House!
This role sits within our Finance & Commercial Directorate, and within the Finance Systems and Data team. It is an important role to work alongside the new finance system provider &/or debt management new supplier to deploy the finance systems solution for Companies House. This is a new and exciting position with an opportunity to join an experienced and engaging team.
You\’ll support and develop the finance systems, alongside business as usual activity including new starters/movers/leavers set up, incident resolution, project work, audit requests, system development and general support for end users of the finance systems. Recent projects that the team are involved with include Register of Overseas Entities (ROE), Sanctions, AWS cloud migration and debt management changes. The successful candidate will be able to manage internal and external relationships, develop systems and oversee process changes to improve customer experience.

Job description
- Capture system requirements from all key and core areas of Finance and CH business teams and ensure the Finance System is built to high specification.
- Work alongside Senior Finance Systems Managers to ensure new data and technology specifications are captured and documented.
- Ensure that all system interfaces and connections are documented and future architect diagrams are updated with sufficient detail.
- Lead on planning activities for the overall delivery of the new system and its implementation.
- Ensure system capability, data glossary and data definition documentation is produced.
- Liaising with new supplier for technical development of the new system and its components.
- Lead on workshops to develop new Finance Systems needs and technical considerations.
- Work alongside stakeholders to ensure that end-to-end processes for are understood and correctly configured in the new system.
- Work alongside counterparts in D&T to understand the new technology and build infrastructure for the new systems.
- Understand and apply functional and data quality standards.
- Maintain the risk and issues registers as and when they arise and escalate where necessary.
- There is potential for there to be line management in the future.
Person specification
We are looking for the following experience and skills, which will be assessed at sift and interview.
- Practical experience of Finance systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships at all levels.
- Customer service empathy and focus with people management skills.
- Extensive experience in a Finance role, e.g., Finance Operations, Accounting, but preferably in a Finance Systems team.
- Competent IT Skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, AAT) and/or extensive, demonstrable experience of working in a Finance role/function.
