Companies House is transitioning to a service team structure as part of its transformation. Our Business Analysts will play a key role in requirements analysis and delivery for our service teams, working in an Agile environment using Scrum. Due to recent legislative changes, we are experiencing growth and are looking to expand our team of business analysts. The Business Analysis team is part of Product Design within the Digital and Technology directorate (DaT). The team will support and work within Service Squads to develop systems and processes that improve service efficiency and effectiveness. We seek enthusiastic, dedicated individuals ready to advance their business analysis careers to join us as Senior Business Analysts and contribute to our service squads.
Responsibilities
- Ensure processes are in place for defining and refining user stories in line with Scrum practices, supporting Business Analysts in their delivery.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint planning and review, representing analysis perspectives.
- Coordinate with external teams when necessary, sharing process/system knowledge.
- Collaborate on test planning, coverage, and execution, ensuring effective testing environments.
- Engage in Business Improvement processes, facilitating value scoring sessions, and analyzing issues to define problems and user needs.
- Manage live issues, providing timely analysis input to ensure service continuity.
- Develop expertise in business process modeling and maintain relevant documentation.
- Mentor junior Business Analysts, supporting their development and training.
- Document changes to services and assess impacts on existing infrastructure.
- Work with development teams to understand and communicate user requirements, ensuring documentation in tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to align work packages with strategic priorities.
- Consider technological impacts and usability when defining requirements.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across services and within Digital and Technology.
- Support organizational objectives through broad understanding and participation in community practices and mentoring.
Person Specification
- Experience in Agile methodologies and requirements delivery.
- Proven ability to develop test coverage and manage live issues.
- Skills in business process mapping and systems modeling.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring others.
Qualifications
- BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (evidence required).
Alongside a salary of £41,571, Companies House contributes £12,043 towards the Civil Service Pension scheme.
