Find out more about what a great place Companies House is to work As a Data Developer, you will help support and develop the existing and future data requirements of Companies House. You will grow your skill and experience in the tools and technologies currently used to deliver public and internal services at Companies House, which include Oracle, MongoDB and PL/SQL development. You will also provide database administration and support for the databases that form part of the development, end to end and test services. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the migration of these databases to public Cloud and to help shape and deliver transformation of Companies House services. Responsibilities: This is a graduate level position within the Data Engineering specialism that sits within our wider infrastructure team; the successful candidate will possess a grounding in the necessary PL/SQL, data development and database administration skills to support and deliver the data components required to support Companies House services. The role includes: Working with analysts, customers, development and support teams, ensuring outcome and quality requirements are delivered. Working in an Agile environment on multiple projects, alongside other professions, to deliver our core business systems. Configure and install solutions to meet the business and user need, ensuring agreed standards and the Companies House Change Management process is adhered to. Respond to and resolve incidents to meet agreed targets. Provide root cause analysis to problems and propose/implement appropriate corrective actions. Take a proactive role in the project to migrate on-premises services to public cloud. Person specification You will be motivated and proactive with good organisational skills. You must be able to work on your own initiative and stay calm under pressure. You will be enthusiastic, flexible with a passion for self-development and someone who enjoys the opportunity to drive change in a fast paced and dynamic IT environment. We are looking for people who have the following: An interest in cloud and a desire to learn new digital skills. Ability to demonstrate the competencies to rapidly acquire digital and technology skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Can work collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to communicate effectively to Stakeholders at all levels of the business. Qualifications: You will have completed or be in your final year of a Computer Science/Software Engineering degree or equivalent. Applications will be accepted from those currently working towards a degree, providing they meet the above requirements to start the Programme in September 2025. We will ask for evidence that you have met the qualification. Failure to evidence meeting the qualification requirements after receiving an offer will result in the offer being rescinded.
