Overview
In this role you will lead delivery of high-value projects within Companies House transformation programmes, focusing on digital services redesign and legislative reform. You will contribute to a mission to be the best registry in the world by delivering brilliant services and enabling cultural change. You’ll mentor other project managers and work with cross-functional teams to realise benefits and ensure governance. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position in a proactive, inclusive team.

Responsibilities
- Design and manage delivery with the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) to meet project objectives
- Develop and maintain the continuing business justification and benefits realisation mechanisms
- Create and manage delivery plans aligning with portfolio milestones
- Lead the project delivery team, remove impediments, and ensure effective change control
- Ensure governance compliance and interface with broader arrangements (e.g., government digital service, procurement standards)
- Manage stakeholder relationships internally and with external partners
- Provide assurance to the project board on budgets, risks, resources, dependencies, delivery and quality
- Arrange and facilitate project board and team meetings and reporting
- Contribute to portfolio reporting and continuous improvement of project delivery practices
- Support development of your own skills and the profession
Key requirements
- Experience delivering complex, high-value projects
- Experience in digital Agile environments or cross-cutting business change or external partnerships
- People-focused approach to project delivery with initiative and problem-solving
- Strong technical skills in project planning, risk management, or benefits management
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Extensive project management experience and willingness to learn new things quickly
- Experience of line management
- Eligibility for senior civil service roles (as inferred by context)
- Qualifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile Project Management Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent experience
