We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join our Finance team. With offices in London, Chicago, and Chennai, you will report to the Head of Finance in London and play a crucial role in driving best-in-class financial performance, collaborating with leadership and various departments across our international organisation. You will be responsible for all financial control, reporting, and accounting related tasks and manage the function to ensure that all group and local requirements are carried out accurately and that deadlines are adhered to. As this is a newly created position, it offers a great opportunity for a finance professional ready to step up and take ownership of the role. You will go beyond day-to-day finance tasks to drive the continuous improvement of our finance function, helping to shape systems and processes that are efficient, robust, and fit for purpose. This role would suit a proactive self-starter who enjoys making things happen and contributing to the development of a best practice finance environment.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee and deliver Financial Control day-to-day activities including reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee the accuracy of financial statements and provide guidance on complex transactions.
- Review reconciliations and supporting schedules prepared by the bookkeeper, as required.
- Identify and implement process improvements to financial controls and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting process.
- Play an integral part in building a scalable and efficient accounting and finance function.
- Have the autonomy to transform our Finance function, i.e., finance automation.
- Deputise and assist the Head of Finance in a variety of financial operations, controls, and management duties, i.e., month-end closing and leadership presentations.
Your skills, behaviours, and values:
- Proven experience in a financial controller/officer or assistant/junior finance manager position.
- Proven track record of delivering finance management and technical accounting operations in SaaS/Tech industry.
- Strong financial, planning, analysis, and operational background including excellent analytical and risk awareness.
- Advanced Xero and Excel skills.
- Experience in finance software (we use Causal, but there are many finance software providers that you may have used).
- Part/full accountancy qualification either (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- You are highly personable and collaborative, with experience working with international office locations.
- You are self-motivated and proactive and thrive in a demanding work environment.
- You have a methodical approach to working and have the ability to improve existing or build new business processes.
- You have the ability to multi-task and have solid time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- You are self-sufficient and seek the opportunity for autonomy.
Salary & Benefits:
The base salary is £38,000. The other elements of your compensation include: 23 days off (increases with tenure) plus the UK bank holidays, £50 monthly gym contribution, pension contribution, private healthcare option, remote working over Christmas and during the summer period, up to 5 days holiday-buy-in scheme, increased parental leave, drinks and snacks provided at our new modern workspace next to Elephant & Castle underground station. And you would probably like to know that we have a hybrid working model (8 days a month in the office minimum) but it is an open door so feel free to come in more if you would like!
