Overview

Education & Online Learning Specialist at Human Health Project (HHP). This role requires developing and implementing HHP’s training programme for patient advocates/navigators, as well as the education programme for patients. Human Health Project (HHP) is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals increase their health knowledge through the sharing of health information. HHP collects, analyzes, and shares health information to empower and inform individuals to achieve better health outcomes. Our patient-centered approach enables patients and caregivers to choose treatments based on evidence-based clinical data as well as the cumulative knowledge of the HHP community. We envision a world where all people have the information, skills and opportunities to lead healthy lives.

Responsibilities

  • Take lead on and oversee (in collaboration with partner organisations) overall Project Peer-Led Patient Advocacy aims, duties, and responsibilities associated with volunteer support (and by extension client support).
  • Work with the Programme Director to plan the programme from start to completion, including deadlines, milestones, and processes—especially around ongoing volunteer activity and client support activity.
  • Devise evaluation strategies with HHP staff and the Programme Director to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements of HHP and/or partner organisations.
  • Develop systems to ensure consistent, high-quality project management around ongoing volunteer activity and client support activity.
  • Provide leadership in the development of inter-team communication, cohesiveness, and programme expansion.
  • Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality, diverse staff and volunteers—especially around ongoing volunteer activity and client support activity.
  • Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed.
  • Read reports prepared by managers to determine progress and issues.
  • Ensure, with the Programme Director, that Peer-Led Patient Advocacy programme operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Develop necessary systems, processes, and tools to better support the facilitation, collection, and sharing of knowledge generated by the programmes—especially around ongoing volunteer activity and client support activity.
  • Keep senior HHP management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations around ongoing volunteer activity and client support activity.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating and leading volunteers within a health or social care field.
  • Experience leading and supporting others in induction, training, and programme delivery aims, with the ability to monitor and report on volunteer activity.
  • A proactive, positive leadership style is a core attribute.
  • Experience coordinating and leading volunteers in health or social care.
  • Experience inducting, training, and delivering programmes; monitoring and reporting on volunteer activity.
  • Ability to guide and support others in a positive and proactive manner.
  • Experience taking a lead on recruitment, training, induction, and ongoing support of Peer Advocate volunteers within a designated locality or region.
  • Experience managing and overseeing volunteer activity to support client well-being and outcomes.
