Job summary

We are recruiting autonomous Locum ACPs and ANPs to manage unscheduled, same-day acute demand across primary care clinics in Rotherham.

Working across GP surgeries and PCN hubs, you will assess undifferentiated acute conditions, make rapid differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments to keep local primary care services running safely and efficiently.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Acute Care: Deliver face-to-face and remote clinical assessments for same-day urgent presentations.
  • Prescribing: Issue prescriptions and manage acute care plans as an Independent Prescriber (V300).
  • Triage & Referrals: Prioriate urgent cases and coordinate onward referrals to secondary or community care services.
  • System Practice: Maintain real-time clinical notes on primary care systems (SystmOne)
  • Professional Standards: Adhere to national clinical guidelines, local NHS safeguarding protocols, and your professional bodys code of conduct.

Engagement: Flexible Locum (Ad-hoc & Block Bookings)

Requirements

  • Active NMC or HCPC registration.
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or verified 4 Pillars portfolio).
  • Active Independent Prescriber (V300) status.
  • Proven experience in primary care, GP surgeries, or urgent access hubs.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience managing acute illness and minor injuries face-to-face in Primary Care, GP Surgeries, or Urgent Access Hubs.

Qualifications

  • Active NMC (Registered Nurse) or HCPC registration.
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or verified 4 Pillars of Advanced Practice portfolio).
  • Active Independent Prescriber (V300) qualification.
  • Formal qualification or certified training in Minor Injuries and Illness
