Role Summary
Community Mind Connect seeks an enthusiastic and organised Events Assistant to join our team on a voluntary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in event planning and contribute to engaging and impactful events for the Lancaster community. Working closely with the Events Coordinator, the Assistant will support all aspects of event organisation and delivery, helping CMC connect with and inspire the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and coordination of various events including workshops, exhibitions, community gatherings and fundraising events.
- Research and book suitable venues, liaising with venue staff as needed.
- Manage logistics such as sourcing equipment, materials and refreshments.
- Communicate with external suppliers (caterers, AV technicians, printers).
- Recruit, brief and coordinate volunteers for events.
- Support marketing and promotion via social media, website and offline methods (flyers, posters).
- Provide on‑site support during events: setup, registration, attendee management and breakdown.
- Track event expenses and ensure budgets are adhered to.
- Assist with collecting feedback and evaluating events post‑event.
- Provide general administrative support: creating schedules, managing RSVPs, preparing documents.
