Community Integrated Care is one of Britain's most successful social care charities, supporting children, young people and adults to live their best lives. We are seeking a visionary Commercial Director to lead a modern, values‐driven commercial strategy that grows our reach and deepens our impact across the UK. This is a full-time permanent role with travel to our head office in Widnes and some regional and national travel as part of the role, so the candidate must be available to travel nationally as required.

Reporting into the Chief Officers Group, you will design and deliver a data‐led commercial model covering pricing, bids, partnerships, products, housing and market development—embedding social value and regulatory compliance in everything we do. You will convert strategy into results: diversifying income, strengthening contractual performance, and ensuring sustainable growth aligned to outcomes for the people we support.

In This Varied And High‐Profile Role, You Will

  • Strategy & growth: Own the national commercial and business development strategy—setting growth plans, budgets, KPIs and governance that meet statutory and regulatory standards across children's and adults' services.
  • Partnerships & profile: Build trusted relationships with commissioners, housing partners and sector leaders; represent CIC at local, regional and national levels to open new markets and protect existing services.
  • M&A & new ventures: Identify and execute mergers/acquisitions, alliances and alternative income streams consistent with our strategy.
  • Data, systems & TEC: Use quality data, reporting and analytics to spot trends and drive targeted action; embed Technology Enabled Care as a core component of our offers.
  • Commercial excellence: Set pricing frameworks, negotiate contracts, and maintain robust bid, tender and non‐standard pricing governance.
  • Leadership: Inspire and develop a high‐performing Business Development team—role‐modelling our values, coaching for performance, and creating a culture of innovation, accountability and inclusion.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Executive‐level experience shaping and delivering commercial strategy in a complex, multi‐professional setting (charity, public or private).
  • Deep knowledge of UK health & social care markets, commissioning and regulation (CQC/CI/Ofsted), with a strong grasp of public procurement and contract management.
  • A track record of winning and mobilising large‐scale bids/tenders, pricing strategy and contract negotiations.
  • Financial leadership of significant budgets; fluent in using data and insight to drive decisions and performance.
  • Credibility and influence with senior stakeholders; exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience of Mergers and Acquisitions and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advantageous: housing and Technology Enabled Care experience; prior Board‐level exposure.
