As we continue our journey of transformation and growth, we're looking for an experienced Accounts Payable & Treasury Manager to join our Finance Leadership Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership skills.

You'll take ownership of our Accounts Payable and Treasury functions, ensuring robust financial controls, efficient payment processes, strong cash management, and an outstanding service for colleagues and suppliers alike.

This is a 12-18 month fixed term contract with attendance at our head office required at least once a week so our ideal candidate will be based within an hours commute of our head office in Widnes.

As our Accounts Payable & Treasury Manager, you'll lead a dedicated team responsible for the smooth and effective delivery of critical finance processes across the organisation.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring supplier payments are accurate, authorised and made on time.
  • Oversee treasury activities, including the administration and reconciliation of business bank accounts.
  • Manage business expense reimbursements, corporate card programmes and petty cash controls.
  • Drive accurate balance sheet reconciliations to support internal reporting and statutory accounts.
  • Produce financial analysis and insights, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Support working capital management through short-term cash flow forecasting and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with banking partners, card providers and key suppliers.
  • Lead process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency, effectiveness and value for money.
  • Develop, coach and motivate a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
  • Ensure financial controls, governance and compliance standards are maintained and enhanced.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a collaborative and proactive finance leader who enjoys finding solutions, improving processes and developing people.

Essential Experience

  • Significant Accounts Payable experience within a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience leading and developing teams with varying skill sets.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and payment processes.
  • Experience analysing large volumes of financial data and identifying key insights.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent.
  • AAT qualification or studying towards AAT (desirable).
