Who We Are:
We’re one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities, and we’re proud to be pioneers in person-centred care. Our vision? Your Life, Your Choice. Our strategy? Best Lives Possible. And our vibe? Supportive, passionate, and always up for making a difference. Whether you’re new to care or a seasoned pro, we’ll give you the tools, training, and TLC to thrive. Because when you go the extra mile for others, we go the extra mile for you.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
There are 7 of us living together at Dean Lodge; our ages range from 22 to 66. We all have our own interests and we’re all individuals! Some of us are independently mobile, and some of us need support with this using equipment. We need support to manage our health and wellbeing, as well as support to live as independently as possible whilst being supported to achieve our goals and aspirations! Our staff are trained in lots of areas to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to support us safely and effectively. Some of these trainings are Moving and Positioning, Administration of Medication, Emergency First Aid and Positive Behaviour Support.
We are all individuals and have our own likes and interests! Some of these are music, parties, swimming, reflexology, going to the theatre, gardening, watching films at the cinema, playing pool. Family is also very important to us, and it is important that our staff include our family in all aspects of our lives. We are loving, kind and funny! We enjoy a happy, positive atmosphere and get along well with considerate and respectful people. We would not enjoy being around people who are bossy, overpowering, or negative.
There is always a minimum of 3 staff on day shift and two staff on nightshift at Dean Lodge. We like our staff to work ‘early’ shifts (7am-2pm), ‘late’ shifts (2pm-9pm) and ‘waking’ nightshifts (9pm-7am). We also like for our staff to work flexibly so that we can be supported to attend a variety of activities such as going to the pub or going to the theatre. We need our staff to support us to achieve our best lives possible. We need our staff to be positive, encouraging, with a ‘can do’ attitude. Our staff need to be proactive and keen learners to help support us safely and effectively.
