Responsibilities

  • Spend your whole shift with the person you support, making the biggest impact on their lives.
  • Provide care and support to individuals with diverse needs (e.g., autism, MS) in a group setting, following the service’s care plan.
  • Engage in varied activities and contribute to the person-centered approach (gardening, cinema visits, arts and crafts, swimming, baking, visiting the local pub, in-house activities, and evening TV).
  • Support the people we assist with activities and day-to-day tasks in a respectful, dignified manner.
  • Apply training provided, including PEG feeding, catheter care, moving and positioning, PBS awareness and medication where trained.

What you need to know about the role

  • We have four colleagues on shift most days; shifts vary (examples include 9:00–23:00 sleep-in, 08:00–21:00, 08:00–19:00, 09:00–22:00).
  • We are based in one location; a car driver is not required.
  • There are guaranteed and contracted hours and flexible working hours and shift patterns.
  • Our people are trained with a wide range of skills and you will receive ongoing professional development and progression opportunities.
  • We provide DBS / PVG costs and a friendly, supportive team environment.

Qualifications and approach

  • We recruit people based on values and from all walks of life; prior professional care experience is not required.
