Overview
Join to apply for the Positive Behavioural Support Specialist Practitioner role at Community Integrated Care. This role covers the South Scotland area, including Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Lothians, Dumfries and Galloway, and the Scottish Borders. With a flexible location, the PBS Specialist Practitioner will work with and support the Strategic PBS Lead in coordinating a whole-organisational approach and strategy to enable this to be effective, quantify the impact in terms of reduced behaviours and improved quality of life, and develop and implement a Positive Behaviour Culture.
This role is full time (37.5 hours per week). Monday β Friday (a 4-day working week can be discussed). You must be a driver with access to your own car as the role covers the South of Scotland, with occasions where travel elsewhere in Scotland may be required.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Strategic PBS Lead to coordinate a whole-organisational PBS approach and strategy.
- Quantify impact in terms of reduced behaviours and improved quality of life; develop and implement a Positive Behaviour Culture.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies as needed; travel across Scotland will be required.
- Carry out Behaviour assessments within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.
- Support reduction of the use of restrictive practices, including restrictive interventions.
- Deliver training, workshops and/or teaching to adult learners; lead individual and team de-briefs.
- Contribute to the organisation\βs shift towards recovery model approaches such as Active Support and Positive Behavioural Support.
- Maintain excellent written and verbal communication; strong IT skills (Word formatting, Excel); conduct research as needed.
- Ensure knowledge of care standards and social care legislation; SharePoint knowledge is preferable but not essential.
- Flexibility in working hours and regular travel as required.
Qualifications
- Level 5 PBS Qualification is essential; willingness to work to level 6/7.
- Extensive experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism who display behaviours of concern.
- Experience carrying out Behaviour assessments within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.
- Experience reducing the use of restrictive practices, including restrictive interventions.
- Experience delivering training, workshops and/or teaching adult learners; experience leading de-briefs.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams; excellent writing, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel); knowledge of care standards and social care legislation; SharePoint is preferable but not essential.
- Willingness to travel as required.
