The home is a supported living scheme, with 3 ladies and 1 gentleman who live here. Three of the people we support attend day centres on different days. One gentleman has his own mobility car and likes to go out for a drive and visit the hairdresser. People we support enjoy going on holiday, to coffee shops, shopping, and the theatre. One lady loves Ben Sheppard from Tipping Point and likes to have his picture on display. Another person likes to have their nails painted every day, while another lady has a love of handbags and always chooses her own bag. One lady enjoys doing jigsaws and helping lay the table at home, as well as colouring pictures, painting rocks, and baking.
All colleagues undertake a structured induction program, as well as specialist training, to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to safely support those in their care. We have our own in-house training team and work with local professionals and expert training providers. We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone who would be perfect for the role will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting individuals based on their values.
