Community Integrated Care is currently seeking a skilled Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) Specialist Practitioner within the South Scotland area, covering Glasgow, Edinburgh, Lothians, Dumfries and Galloway, and the Scottish Borders.
Overview
The PBS Specialist Practitioner will work with and support the Strategic PBS Lead to coordinate a whole‑organisational approach to enable effective positive behaviour change, quantify impact through reduced behaviours, improved quality of life, and developing a Positive Behaviour Culture.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement PBS strategy with the Strategic PBS Lead.
- Conduct behaviour assessments within a Positive Behaviour Support framework.
- Reduce the use of restrictive practices, including restrictive interventions.
- Lead training, workshops and adult learning sessions.
- Conduct individual/team de‑briefs and provide guidance.
- Prepare reports, drive research, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
- Travel within South Scotland and occasionally across Scotland.
- Adapt working hours to meet programme demands.
- Uphold care standards and social care legislation.
- Practice under the MAPA model and advocate recovery‑oriented approaches.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 5 PBS qualification (essential) with willingness to progress to Level 6/7 or ABA qualification.
- Minimum one year working PBS experience.
- Extensive experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism who display behaviours of concern.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, SharePoint preferred).
- Knowledge of care standards and social‑care legislation.
- Driver’s licence and access to own car.
- Educational background in behaviour support, psychology, or related field (desirable).

Working Hours
The role is full time (37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday). A four‑day working week can be discussed.
