If so, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact as part of Community Integrated Care’s Qualifications Scotland Accredited Centre. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated SVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier to join our Learning & Development team. In this pivotal role, you’ll support colleagues across Health & Social Care to achieve their SVQ or Modern Apprenticeship qualifications—empowering them to deliver the best life possible for the people we support.
This is a full time permanent role and our ideal candidate will be based in Central Scotland or surrounding areas with some regional and national travel expected with the role.

You’ll guide candidates from induction through to award, assess their knowledge and practice, and ensure all assessment decisions meet Qualifications Scotland standards. As an Internal Verifier, you’ll also support fellow assessors, uphold quality assurance processes, and help maintain our excellent reputation with Qualifications Scotland, SDS, and Education Scotland.
This is a home-based role with national travel, offering flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to work collaboratively with a passionate and supportive L&D team.
Day to Day (list not exhaustive):
- Delivering an Outstanding Learning Experience
- Designing and delivering programmes of learning that enable candidates to succeed.
- Providing end-to-end qualification support, feedback, and guidance.
- Holistically planning and conducting assessments in line with Qualification Scotland requirements.
- Driving Quality & Compliance
- Implementing robust governance and audit frameworks.
- Verifying assessment decisions and supporting assessors to apply standards consistently.
- Preparing for and participating in external verification activities.
- Maintaining accurate, compliant records and audit trails.
- Supporting People to Achieve
- Offering tailored support to learners and line managers.
- Identifying barriers to progression and helping candidates overcome them.
- Promoting a positive learning culture across the organisation.
- Contributing to Continuous Improvement
- Participating in self-assessment and quality improvement activities.
- Sharing insights, data, and ideas to enhance the Qualifications Scotland centre’s performance.
- Leading development activities to improve qualification delivery.
Our Ideal candidate:
- SCQF Level 7 Social Services and Healthcare (minimum), ideally Level 9 or equivalent.
- Assessor qualification (D23/D33, A1, or L&D9Di).
- Internal Verifier qualification (eg L&D11 / PDA in Internal Verification of Workplace Assessment at SCQF Level 8) or be willing to work towards this within an agreed timeframe.
- Experience in Health & Social Care and understanding of Qualifications Scotland centre operations.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and digital skills.
- Creativity, adaptability, and a passion for inspiring learners.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
