About Community Integrated Care: Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We transform lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred support that fosters independence and empowerment. Our charity was founded in 1988, and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives. Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

We are recruiting flexible Bank Support Workers for this role based in Woodthorpe, Nottingham (NG5). For this role, you must hold a UK driving license to be able to drive the house vehicle, which is an automatic. In this service, we support 2 ladies in their own home to live their daily lives. Both ladies have different needs and levels of mobility, so you will provide person-centred support to ensure they are as independent as possible. Previous experience supporting individuals with epilepsy, learning disabilities and dementia would be great, but we're also happy to train the right person!

What you'll be doing:

The role involves supporting people to achieve their aspirational goals and to become more independent and make their own choices each day. Our staff team are trained on how best to support each person within the service. This can include supporting with:

  • Personal care
  • Mobility support
  • Medication administration
  • Household support e.g. cooking, cleaning, managing budgets and finances
  • Fun activities, including colouring in, going out shopping, watching movies, listening to music and relaxing at home.

There is 1 member of staff working from 10am - 10am the next day (this includes a sleepover shift from 10pm - 7am). We also provide 1:1 support every Saturday from 10am - 3pm.

Note: Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

About you:

What we're looking for:

We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; from people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.

Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to us, so we look for people with:

  • Patience
  • Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
  • A strong work ethic
  • Reliability
  • Honesty
  • Determination
  • A problem solver
  • Resilience
