This Service Leader role provides the opportunity to oversee two supported living services in East Sussex, based in Polegate and Hailsham, each made up of 10 self‑contained flats. The services support adults with a range of needs including Autism, Dementia, Physical and Learning Disabilities. Each person lives in their own home and receives tailored, person‑centred support that promotes independence, dignity, choice and community inclusion. You will primarily be based in the office within the Polegate service, while holding overall responsibility for both services. A Deputy Manager, mostly based at the Hailsham service, will support you in day‑to‑day leadership — creating a strong, collaborative management structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery & Quality: Leading both services to achieve outstanding outcomes aligned with our Best Lives Possible and Best Lives, Bolder strategy; driving high‑quality, person‑led care planning that reflects individual interests, goals and aspirations; role‑modelling a positive, enabling approach to risk and independence; actively promoting services and seeking opportunities for innovation, partnership working and community engagement; using our quality assurance framework to monitor KPIs, identify areas for improvement and deliver robust action plans; managing resources effectively to ensure safe, compliant and efficient service delivery; encouraging people supported to actively influence and shape how services are delivered.
  • People Leadership: Leading, developing and motivating engaged, high‑performing teams across both services; coaching, mentoring and supporting colleagues to feel confident, valued and empowered; supporting and developing the Deputy Manager to lead effectively at the Hailsham service; promoting strong two‑way communication so colleagues feel informed, heard and involved; connecting teams with the wider charity strategy, tools, systems and support available; identifying internal talent and supporting career progression and succession planning.
  • Transformation, Growth & Digital Engagement: Embracing new ways of working and leading teams confidently through change; encouraging reflective practice, innovation and continuous improvement; supporting colleagues to engage positively with digital systems and technology; promoting environmental, social and corporate responsibility; contributing to regional growth plans and building strong peer relationships across the organisation.

Desired Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience working across multiple services or sites
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and inspection processes
  • Working with multi‑disciplinary teams and participating in case reviews
  • Experience leading teams and managing budgets
  • Professional qualification in Health & Social Care (e.g. Social Worker, Nurse, SVQ Level 4, or Level 5 Leadership & Management)
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development
  • Confidence using and promoting digital systems and technology
