Responsibilities
- Provide support to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health and physical disabilities in a care setting
- Assist with daily living tasks and promote independence and personal development
- Support in achieving individualised goals and overcoming barriers
- Create a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all people we support
- Build trust and rapport with individuals, fostering a sense of security and well‑being
- Participate in scheduled activities such as group therapy, social events and day trips
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and external agencies
Work Hours and Requirements
- Shift times range from 11:00 am–7:00 pm, 1:00 pm–6:00 pm, 12:00 pm–4:00 pm, 8:00 am–3:00 pm and 3:00 pm–9:00 pm
- Flexibility to work across all listed shifts is required
- Roles include a 25‑hour post supporting a gentleman in his own home and a 71‑hour post covering the general building
- Manual handling training is mandatory for all staff
- Previous care or support experience, especially with people having learning or mental health needs, is preferred
- Male support worker required for this particular post – genuine occupational requirement
