Who you'll be supporting & more about the role: Are you a friendly, outgoing person with a big heart? Do you have a genuine desire to make a real difference in someone's life? If so, we'd love to hear from you! We're looking for an enthusiastic Female Support Worker to join our amazing team. A driver would be preferred. (37.5 hour per week)
At our services there are 11 people we support living in 5 separate properties. These are all in the same street and they all enjoy spending time with each other. We all have different hobbies and interests but we all still like to spend time together. We all enjoy going out within our community, especially on shopping trips or going out for meals. Some of us also enjoy more physical activities such as going to discos, bowling, dancing, playing pool or going to the gym. We need your support to be able to do this.
We also like to practice a variety of hobbies and interests whilst at home such as puzzles, board games, baking, art and crafts and having karaoke parties. We often like it when you join in with our activities alongside us. Maintaining our relationships with the people we love is very important to us and we will need your support to be able to do this. We like our staff to have similar interests to us. They must be kind, caring and compassionate. We would not get along well with people who are bossy. We all have a really good sense of humour; it is important to us that we are surrounded by people who can make us laugh and share our jokes.
There is at least 1 staff member on shift in each house at all times. Shift times and patterns vary depending on the house, from 24 hour sleepover shifts and 12 hour day shifts to the shorter 1:1 shifts which are usually around 6 to 8 hours long. In order to support us to have the best life possible, our team has specialised training in all the areas we require support. Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
