If you love turning complex data into clear insight—and you care about building systems that genuinely improve outcomes—this could be the role for you.

This is a full time permanent role with attendance at our head office in Widnes at least once a week so our ideal candidate will be based within an hour's commute of Widnes.

From our Employee Assistance Programme (available 24/7), financial support options, and wellbeing fund you'll have the support available to lead an easier (financial) life.

You’ll design, develop and maintain our data architecture, implementing data transformation and data warehousing solutions within a SQL environment to build a core organisational data layer. You’ll also support the ongoing delivery of reporting solutions that meet business needs—ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness throughout.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you’ll gather BI requirements, recommend improvements, and follow data best practice to deliver high-quality analysis that drives better decisions and better services.

  • Develop and maintain SQL reporting databases and the wider reporting architecture.
  • Design and build efficient ETL processes using T‑SQL (extract, transform, load).
  • Create and maintain Power BI semantic models and reporting solutions that meet business needs.
  • Integrate and interface data between core systems and reporting platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, web services/APIs).
  • Optimise database performance (indexes, stored procedures, tuning, monitoring).
  • Investigate, analyse, and document defects and work collaboratively with application support.
  • Provide guidance across the business to improve data visibility, insight, and data quality.

You’ll be a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with stakeholders and taking ownership of high-quality delivery. You’ll bring a strong technical BI skill set and the curiosity to keep learning and improving.

Minimum 2 years’ industry experience in BI / data development:

  • T‑SQL (queries, functions, stored procedures, triggers, indexes).
  • Power BI / Power BI Desktop (data models + report development).
  • Data warehouse methodologies.
  • APIs / web services.
  • Database design and administration (SQL Server 2008–2016 incl. Performance tuning & monitoring).
  • Azure SQL Server.
  • JSON / XML.
  • .NET and C#.
  • Experience using Azure Data Factory for pipelines and integrations.
  • IT degree (or similar—Computer Science / Software Engineering / Data Analysis).
  • Microsoft Certification in a SQL or Power BI pathway.

If you’re excited by the chance to build modern BI capability that supports an organisation doing meaningful work every day, we’d love to hear from you.
