Job Summary

We're looking for an enthusiastic Female Support Worker to join our amazing team. A driver would be preferred. (37.5 hour per week) At our services there are 11 people we support living in 5 separate properties on the same street. These people enjoy spending time together and have a variety of hobbies and interests. We all have different hobbies and interests but still like to spend time together. We enjoy going out within our community, especially for shopping trips or meals, and also more physical activities like discos, bowling, dancing, playing pool, or going to the gym. We need your support to do this. We practice a variety of hobbies at home such as puzzles, board games, baking, art and crafts and karaoke parties. We often enjoy your participation in these activities. Maintaining relationships with loved ones is very important, and we will need your support to do this. We like staff who share similar interests, are kind, caring, compassionate and not bossy. We have a good sense of humour; it is important to us that we are surrounded by people who can make us laugh and share our jokes. There is at least 1 staff member on shift in each house at all times. Shift times and patterns vary depending on the house, from 24 hour sleep‑over shifts and 12 hour day shifts to shorter 1:1 shifts typically 6 to 8 hours long.

In order to support us to have the best life possible, our team has specialised training in all the areas we require support. Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010. We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone who would be perfect for the role will have professional experience. That is why we are passionate about recruiting to people's values and we welcome applicants from all walks of life – from those with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, to those with lived experiences or family care experience, to those with no experience at all.
