We are looking for a practical and organised Team Leader to support the delivery of reliable environmental and grounds maintenance services across our neighbourhoods. You will help manage the day-to-day organisation of work, making sure tasks are allocated fairly and completed to the required standards and specifications. You will use your operational experience to monitor quality, maintain accurate digital records and ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
You will oversee colleagues carrying out grounds, cleaning and landscape duties, supporting them to meet targets and quality expectations. You will monitor the performance of contractors and colleagues, take part in reviews, and recommend changes where needed. The role also includes planning work programmes, checking materials and equipment are available and attending customer meetings when required. You will also support the out of hours service for winter gritting, snow clearance and emergency responses.
As a Team Leader, you will help build a positive and collaborative team culture. You will motivate and guide colleagues, support their development and take part in recruitment and induction. You will help maintain safe working environments by carrying out risk assessments and making sure safe systems of work are followed.
