About Us
Care & Repair is the older persons champion in Wales and actively works to ensure that all older people have homes that are safe, secure and appropriate to their needs. Cwm Taf Care & Repair is a not-for-profit organisation that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cynon Taf Community Housing Group. The agency is funded by Welsh Government, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and Cwm Taf University Health Board. Our role is to provide a free support and advice service for older and disabled people that assists the client’s choice to remain living in their home. A client led, individually tailored package of support will be identified and delivered by an experienced team of Case Officers, Technical Officers with the aim of ensuring clients remain in their own homes with greater independence, warmth, security and safety.

Cwm Taf Care and Repair are recruiting a permanent Multiskilled Tradesperson to join our team delivering small works services to clients across Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. The agency is committed to providing an efficient and effective service to older or disabled people. This will enable clients to remain in their own homes in greater comfort and security.
About The Role
As the Multiskilled Tradesperson, you will be responsible for visiting clients in their own homes and completing a range of works to meet their needs. You will primarily work in a team of 2.
Main Duties Will Include
- Construct and repair steps, pathways, patios, and other hard landscaping features
- Lay paving, concrete, brickwork, and other materials to create durable and aesthetically pleasing surfaces
- Carry out general building and maintenance tasks, including bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, and tiling
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery required for the role
- Ensure all work meets health and safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate with other team members as needed to complete projects efficiently.
Additional Duties Will Include
- Small Ramps and Home Access
- Keysafes
- External and Internal Rails
- Grabrails
- Installation of minor equipment
- Safety in the House i.e. changing locks, security work, intercoms

We are seeking a Multiskilled Tradesperson who will need to be proactive, flexible and self-motivated. Commitment to providing a client orientated service is essential along with the ability to work to timescales.
Use of Company Vehicle to carry out works, Tools, IT Equipment including Mobile Phone or Mobile Allowance, Uniform & PPE provided.
Due to the nature of the post, you will hold a full driving licence and will have a full DBS check. The agency will organise this should the successful candidate not have one in place.
