Summary

Cynon Taf Community Housing Group is in the heart of Rhondda Cynon Taf in glorious South Wales. We’re proud of our communities and our deep-rooted history in providing homes and support to the people who live in them.
We currently provide around 2000 homes for rent, including 4 housing schemes for older people, two women’s refuges, and several supported housing projects delivered in partnership with other agencies. Our hugely respected Cwm Taf Care and Repair subsidiary provides services for older or disabled people living in privately-owned homes across Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil.

Job Role
We are seeking to appoint a Housing Officer with strong organisational skills and experience in delivery of proactive, customer focused service to Contract Holders and our communities by ensuring that all elements of the contract are effectively managed, and that Contract Holders are able to sustain their homes and contribute positively towards their community.
The role focusses on establishing and building excellent relationships with applicants, contract holders and other stakeholders enabling a proactive and non-judgemental housing management service to our many customers. Key areas of responsibility include housing management and anti-social behaviour resolution, income and account management for both current and former rent and service charge activity, allocations and lettings. In addition, you will work closely with our Financial Inclusion and Support teams, to ensure that Contract Holders are given every opportunity to access the right information and support needed to pay their rent, sustain their contract and lead happy and healthy lives.
To Be Successful, a Candidate Will Need To
- Be fully familiar with the patch and the communities we work in to understand and deliver a full range of housing management functions.
- Have knowledge of Housing Management practices including Contract management, Neighbour Nuisance, Anti – Social Behaviour and Estate Management, Voids and Allocations
- Have an understanding of welfare reform, housing benefit, universal credit, and income recovery processes
- Have knowledge and understanding of the legal responsibilities and rights of landlords and Contract Holders and the duties of statutory and other agencies under health and safety and Contract law.
- Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, adhering to professionalism, commercial confidentiality and GDPR
- Experience of using CRM systems; specifically, QLx would be advantageous.
It would be beneficial for future post holder to have CIH Professional Diploma or BA/BSc in Housing or equivalent relevant experience and ability to write and speak Welsh.
