Job Summary
The Lead Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) provides support, navigation, and education specific to services provided by the Mobile Crisis Team. They oversee daily activities of the Mobile Crisis Team such as filling schedule and vacancy needs, onboarding new team members, providing oversight of team documentation and fulfilling peer supervision requirements. The Lead CPSS facilitates and oversees both individual and group supervision on a weekly and/or monthly basis per agency and state protocol. They will engage with individuals and families to improve their health and wellness, live self-directive lives, and strive to reach their full potential. When the Lead CPSS is filling schedule and vacancy needs, they are responsible for conducting crisis response and de-escalation to individuals in the community and via the crisis response hotline. The team will partner with first responders and community partners to reduce arrests and need for support from emergency departments. Ongoing support to individuals and families will be given through targeted outreach, care coordination, and engagement
License & Certification Requirements
- Required Certifications/Licensures: (Verified completion of a state-approved Certified Recovery Specialist training program and passing score on certification exam. Or Completed Addiction Peer Recovery Coach Certification., Certification within specialty area, Current Indiana Driver\’s License with valid vehicle insurance)
Experience
- 2+ years: Experience in a human services related field involving skills training, case management, and crisis. (Required) (Required)
Essential Functions (job Duties)
- Patients First: The Mobile Crisis Lead Peer Support Specialist (PSS) collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary care team by supporting the comprehensive psycho-social assessments. They help clients regulate emotions and document services provided in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) based on policies and procedures. When necessary, the Lead PSS will fill schedule and vacancies which may include transporting clients in personal vehicles. They meet clients where they are at by providing crisis response in client\’s homes, in community settings, at crisis departments, or at emergency departments.
- Excellence The Mobile Crisis Lead PSS will be actively involved in professional development and education, including mandatory training. They will provide oversight of documentation for the Mobile Crisis Team and fulfill peer supervision requirements. They will complete timecards, PTO requests, mileage reports, and other documentation per Community Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
- Relationships: Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving. They will address the onboarding needs of new team members. They will assist with crisis and emergency departments when not responding to off-site crisis calls.
- Integrity: The Mobile Crisis Lead PSS will comply with all applicable Behavioral Health Care Service policies and procedures.
