Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist- North

The Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist conducts crisis mental health and substance abuse evaluations for consumers. Evaluates biopsychosocial status and needs for the development of an appropriate treatment/crisis plan. Provides 24-hour mental health/substance abuse emergency resources to persons in central Indiana.
Qualifications:
- LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAC in Indiana required.
- Master’s degree in a mental health related field from an accredited institution required.
- At least 2 years of experience in mental health treatment required.
- Experience in crisis triage, risk assessments, and working with mental health and chemically dependent populations preferred.
- Experience in medical milieu preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate psychosocial status and needs for appropriate treatment disposition.
- Provide ADLs when necessary. Triage patients in various settings, determine level of care and risk, conduct crisis intervention, and support services for consumers of all ages.
- Conduct mental health and chemical dependency screenings for consumers and families. Coordinate admissions and maintain documentation for crisis and case management services.
- Provide offsite and community-based response, consultation services, and education to hospital staff and external customers.
- Provide psychiatric coverage to Emergency departments and other departments as needed. Present cases to insurance reviewers and psychiatrists.
- Participate in behavior management appropriate to the population served.
