Summary: The SBHC Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician is a licensed provider who performs psychosocial evaluations, develops care plans, offers therapy, collaborates with medical providers, and documents all interventions. The role focuses on direct client care, supervision of unlicensed staff, and follows a school calendar of 195 days/year.
Role and Responsibilities
- Complete behavioral health evaluations and provide therapy to children and adults.
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, accepting referrals from primary care providers and engaging with the patient population.
- Consult with other providers, coordinate with psychiatric consultants, and attend team meetings.
- Supervise unlicensed staff as assigned, meet productivity standards, and encourage client expression.
- Perform crisis interventions, assess safety concerns, and develop treatment plans.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify approaches as needed.
- Support clients and families, stay updated on field developments, and gather community resources.
Administrative:
- Complete documentation in compliance with regulations and standards, including intake, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Complete reports for outside agencies and participate in agency committees.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D./Psy.D, LCSW, LPC or LMFT, licensed in Connecticut.
- At least one year of outpatient experience with children and/or adults.
- Strong clinical skills with evidence-based practices.
- Reliable transportation; bilingual skills preferred.
Physical and Work Environment:
- Sitting, walking, stair climbing; minimal lifting.
- Participation in school/community events.
Communication and Confidentiality:
- Excellent communication skills required.
